Department of Parks and Wildlife
To manage infestations of Parkinsonia and Mesquite impacting, or likely to impact on lands managed by the Department of Parks and Wildlife, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed to implement strategic on-ground and surveillance programs for weeds.
This work is undertaken in collaboration with other land managers adjacent to Unallocated Crown Lands, including resource companies and pastoralists. Experienced contractors are employed to undertake strategic herbicide control of identified infestations, with data collected and referenced into the Pilbara weeds database.
